1) Students will have an open book test over Chapter 2
2) Students will be given a KWL for Chapter 3, Section 1
3) Students will be assigned Chapter 3, Section 1 to read for the next class
Wednesday 10-21-09
Thursday 10-22-09
1. Students are to be given the assignment to read Chapter 3, section 1
prior to this class after the last unit test. Give students a 5 question
reading quiz over Chapter 3, Section 1. (10 point Bonus Opportunity)
2. Students will be presented with a PowerPoint Presentations for
Chapter 3, sec 1 that will outline what they will be learning.
3. Students will complete a follow along worksheet for chapter 3,
section 1 while watching a PowerPoint Presentation.
4. The students will break into pairs to re-read Chapter 3 section 1 and
complete the following assignment.
5. Have students answer the following questions about
a) Who was this topic written about?
b) What was the topic written about?
c) When did the topic take place?
d) Where did the topic take place?
e) Why is the topic important?
1. The Jamestown Colony
2. John Smith
3. The House of Burgesses
4. The Plymouth Colony
5. The Mayflower Compact
6. The First Thanksgiving
6. Students will turn in work at the beginning of next class.
Homework
Students will complete any work not finished in the classroom and are to read
Chapter 3, Section 2 for the reading quiz, for bonus points, that will be
given at the beginning of the next class.
