Is there extra credit?

Rarely, the best way to earn extra points is Corrections. You
can earn back
1/2 credit. A 70 can turn into an 85 if the paper is properly
corrected :)I
allow children to correct all homework and tests. We do not
correct quizes.

Does my child have homework?

If your child walks through my door, they walk out with
homework. There is
no way they can possibly complete the assignment with the proper
attention
here at school.
Day one of class they will bring home vocabulary and math
notes. It is important they begin studying these immediatly.
These will be
on their test. Day one they will also bring home MANY forms for
you to
review, sign, and return. PLEASE pay particular attention to the
discipline
code. Middle school consequences are under the 6th grade through
high school
guidelines. These are different and what might have cost your
child recess
in the past will be an infraction of a different nature now.

What is going on with my child??? I barely recognize them!?!?!

Welcome to middle school and puberty. Not to be glibe, but it is
happening
at some level with every child, even the REALLY good ones. They
will come
back around, do what you have always done, love them and hold
them
accountable.

Does my child have to show their work?

YES, this is the only way I can help determine where they are
struggling.
They can use a calculator, but it should be a tool to check their
work, not
a crutch to do their work.
