Oct. 19-20 - Students will begin Earth Science Voc. Students will write, define, draw a picture, and write a sentence using these words.

Oct. 21-22 - Students will finish voc. in class

Oct. 23 - Students will present words in class and correct any mistakes. Words will be turned in for a grade.

Oct. 26-27 Students will read chapter 8 pg. 220-241. For homework students will answer question pg. 246-267 1-10

Oct. 28-29 - Students will read chapter 9 pg. 252-279. For homework students will answer questions pg. 284-285 1-9

Oct. 30 - Students will begin researching information on their assigned object in space: comets, asteroids, meteoroids, nebulas, black holes, quasars, and pulsars from their book.

Nov. 2-3 - Students will research in the computer lab about their assigned object.

Nov. 4-5 - Students will combine and organize notes. Students will begin writing their persuasive essay in class.

Nov. 6 - Students will finish writing thier persuasive essay in class.

Nov. 9-10 Students will work on their power point presentation for their presentation.

Nov. 11-12 Students will finish power point presentations and work on speeches.

Nov. 13 Students will practice speeches.

Nov. 16-17 Students will present their power point presentations.

Nov. 18-19 Students will take Earth Science Test

Nov. 23-24 Students will read ch. 3 out loud in class pg. 76-83. Students will draw and color fig. 1, fig. 2, and fig. 3. Students will draw and explain an example of primary succession.
Nov. 30-Dec. 1 Students will read ch. 5 pg. 124-139. Students will draw and color fig. 6 pg. 127.
Dec. 2-3 Students will read pg. 150-172. Students will define all words and choose either a picture or a sentence. Students will draw and color Fig. 1 pg. 156-157.
Dec. 4 Watch Bill Nye the Science Guy - Atmosphere and Storms
Dec. 7-8 Students will read pg. 184-209. Students will draw practice with a Fahrenheit and Celsius thermometer. Students will draw fig. 4 pg. 208 and Fig. 5.
Dec. 9-10 Exam review - students will work on study guide.

Jan. 8 Make a layered book - label tabs with types of energy, energy conversions, conservation of energy, and energy resources. We will take notes on the layered book as we read. Read pg. 346-353. Define all highlighted words while we read. Answer questions in class pg. 353 1-6. Homework workbook pgs. 164-166 1-32 Ch. 12 Test Jan. 19-20

Feb. 3-4 Correct ch. 13 Test for 1/2 credit. Make layered book and labe tabs charge, current, voltage, and resistance.

Feb. 5 Read pages. 416-422 Have each group create static electricity with two baloons. Expain what the balloons to a students hair, when the balloons are close together. Define all highlighted words. Answer questions pg. 423 1-8 and 11-12 Ch. 14 test Feb. 22-23

Feb. 8-9 Read pg. 424-435 define all highlighted words. Answer questions pg. 435 1-3 Begin workbook pages 198-205 1-31, 1-29 and 1-13. Anything not finished is homework. Ch. 14 test Feb. 22-23

Feb. 10-11 Read pg. 436-440 define all highlighted words. Turn in vocabulary and layered book. Begin to design an experiment using a battery, a light, and wire. Each group will test a different question to test how circuits work and what makes them stronger or weaker. Ch. 14 test Feb. 22-23

Feb. 12 Each group will present test and the class will discuss whether the test is valid or needs to be reconsidered. Each group will need to bring in their own C batteries for the experiment. I will provide the wire, battery holder, light, and switch. Ch. 14 test Feb. 22-23

Feb. 17-18 Each group will test their experiment. Each group should have data to present to the class on Friday. Ch. 14 test Feb. 22-23

March 3-4 Make Key Term foldable for chapter 1 - define all highlighted words. Make flip chart for scientific method and engineering method. Design an experiment worksheet. Turn in voc., flip chart, and experiment sheet.  Grade notebook - must have all 20 pages for 300 points.

March 5 End of the 3rd Nine Weeks Reward Party - Students who are not missing any work and are passing are eligible.
