Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
Welcome to the beginning of the 2009-2010 school year at Mt. Juliet
Middle School. We look forward to working with you and your child.
Since the middle school concept may be new for some of you, it’s our
pleasure to briefly describe what it entails. Your child has already been
placed with a team (Team 6D). Each team has five teachers that will closely
work with you and your child to ensure a successful year. The teaming model
is used to help make your child’s transition from elementary school to
middle school as easy as possible. We will also be on a block schedule
system (A days/B days). So there will be many new changes for your child
this year.
*Expectations:
• Arrive on time in dress code to school daily.
• Turn in class work/homework on time.
• Come to class prepared with all required classroom materials and
your AGENDA.
• Treat people, property, and yourself with respect.
*Agenda/Email/Communication:
• The agenda is one way that we communicate with you.
• The students should always have their daily work and homework copied
in their agenda.
• We will write notes in the agenda as needed.
• We do use email frequently, so please check for emails.
• Due to the spam system our email system uses, please put your
child’s name in the subject line of your emails.
• Teacher web is a great source of information for our team!
*Attendance Policy:
• Please read the attendance/tardy policies in your child’s agenda.
• It is your child’s responsibility to get any of their make-up work
the day they return.
We understand that this is a lot of information, but we feel it is
important to establish these standards early in the year. If you have any
questions or concerns, please contact us by email, letter, or telephone. We
will do our best to get back to you in a timely manner. Thank you in
advance for your support and the success of this year. We realize the
importance your role plays in your child’s education this year.
Thank you again for your support!
