Requirements. Please bring your own novel by next Tuesday for A Day and 
Wednesday for B Day. 

8/5, 8/6- Discuss Fact or Opinion. Read "Rikki-tikka-tavi" P.4. LIST TEN 
EVENTS P.4 HOMEWORK- Finish p.4

8/7- STACK DAY- All classes- Turn in page 4. Parents, a few parents failed to 
turn this in. Please encourage your child to get this in as soon as possible 
if he/she didn't do so today.
Snake Video- Complete Fact or Opinion Worksheet p.5- This was turned in in 
class. Define conflict, write vocabulary words and definitions 1-14, and 
define fiction and nonfiction. This is from the text and is page 6. It will 
be finished at the next class. Test on "Rikki- tikki- tavi", and page 6 on  
Wed. for A Day and Thurs. for B Day. 

8/10 -Daily Sent. p.7. Finish page 6 and add Words to Own, Vivid Verbs, and 
Kipling Facts. Novel Requirements p.8. Test on Wed. and Thurs. Study page 6 
for the test.

8/12,8/13-TEST P.9. Prior Knowledge Test-p.10. Preview textbooks. Discuss 
inferences and drawing conclusions. 

All students are checking out novels on 8/12 and 8/13.

8/14-STACK DAY- ALL CLASSES- Write Prepositions 1-45 p.11. Memorize the 45 
Prepositions for a test on Friday 8/21.AR Books must be read by 8/28. Please 
remember all books must be approved by me.

8/17, 8/18- Test p.9 returned- get signed by parent. Story Elements, Story 
Profile Form and Story Profile Example p.12. Bridge to Terabithia-watch video 
and take notes. 

8/19,8/20-Finish Bridge to Terabithia. Take notes p.12. Complete Story 
Profile p.12. Preposition Test Friday. Remember all 45 prepostions must be 
memorized in order. Also, all AR books must be finished by 8/28. 

8/21-STACK DAY- Preposition Test p.13. Daily Grammar Practice Notes. 

8/24,8/25- Daily Grammar Practice p.14. Daily Reading Practice p.15. AR 
TESTS -A DAY 9/2, B DAY- 9/3.

8/26, 8/27- Read "Song of the Trees" P.29 in the textbook. Six-Frame Cartoon 
p.17 - Draw and color with markers to show the sequence of events.

8/28- STACK DAY- Write sentences with the first 20 prepositions (using your 
preposition list on your notebook page 11 ). You will write each word as a 
preposition in a prepositional phrase. Put parentheses around each 
prepositional phrase, write prep. over each preposition and o.p. over each 
object of the preposition. This is  page 18. AR Tests Wednesday and Thursday.
 
8/31, 9/1- Complete timeline of life p.19. Three Main Events- write 3 
paragraphs about three of the events p. 19.Vocabulary p.20. The Preposition 
Test p.13 was returned. Parents, please sign the test. The six frame cartoon 
page 17 was returned.  

9/2,9/3- Write sentences with remaining prepositions 21-45 from notebook page 
11.This assignment is page 21 and was turned in today. Vocabulary p.22- Read 
the passage and write down the vocabulary word at the bottom of the page and 
what it means from its context. AR Tests/Library- Please sign your child's AR 
grade in the agenda. Homework- Finish vocabulary if it wasn't finished in 
class.Remember students must read 30 minutes every night.

9/10,9/11- B Day, A Day- Read "Three Skeleton Key" page 65 in textbook. Draw 
a suspenseful scene from the story and color it with markers. This is page 25.

dance by yourself- write 5 times- complete Monday- Friday's Lesson using your 
notes. Library/ AR Tests/ Check out. Daily Reading Practice p.26

and page 33 for test on Wednesday for A Day and Thursday for B Day.

11/3 and 11/4. 

11/4,11/5- Read "Bargain" P.231 in the textbook. Complete worksheet p.43. 
Turn worksheet in . Read AR.

STACK DAY 11/6- Make a list of ways to become a successful student - on back 
of page 44. Then, on the front make a web with three subtopics and three 
ideas for each subtopic.
