Making children my career was an easy choice for me. For thirty-three
years, I have worked with children in public schools. The first thirteen
years were spent going from school to school doing speech/language therapy.
After that, I became a teacher of language impaired children, of various
ages, in self-contained special education classrooms. For the last twelve
years, I have taught second graders right here at Norman Binkley. It's
wonderful!
St. Louis, Missouri was my hometown growing up, until I changed it to
Nashville, Tennessee. I finished college at Vanderbilt and didn't want to
leave! I have two grown sons and a cat in my everyday life. Life is good.
It is my belief that all children can learn, though not all learn in the
same way or at the same speed. It is my task to help each child start from
where they are now in their learning and move ever closer to where they can
be. I want them to get there and to like the journey.
