What is the difference between cast and supporting cast members?

Cast members are those students who are acting/singing on stage. They have
speaking and/or singing parts that are performed in front of the audience.
Support cast members are the students who work 'behind the scenes' to help
make the musical successful. Examples of supporting cast crew include:
sound,
lighting, greeter, curtains, prompters, and props/scenery. These students
are
not seen by the audience during a performance, but their role is critical
during the production. There is also a third group of students: chorus
members. Chorus members are seated off to the side of the stage during a
performance. They have no acting parts, but they will be singing together
during the songs to assist the cast members.
