I am currently in my 16th year of teaching. I earned my Bachelor's
Degree with a double major in Mathematics and History from Union University
in 1992 and my Master's Degree in History from the University of Memphis in
2004. After graduating from Union, I taught in Huntingdon and McNairy County
before moving home to Trenton, where I was a 1988 graduate of Peabody High
School.
For the 2008-2009 school year, I will be teaching Algebra I and Gateway
Algebra at the high school, and I will coach football for Trenton's middle
school. My true love is teaching history, and I am fortunate to get to do
that as an adjunct history professor for Dyersburg State Community College
on both their Dyersburg and Trenton campuses.
I have a beautiful wife, Mollie Grace, who teaches Kindergarten for Trenton
Elementary School. Mollie and I have four children. John Davis is 12 and in
the sixth grade, Miller is 9 and in the fourth, Major is 3, and our baby
girl Grace Ann is 1.
When I am not teaching/coaching, I like to hunt and fish with the boys,
visit historical sites, spend time at the river, and watch a good football
game. I also enjoy reading, but rarely find the time to do so.
It is my mission to develop and support creative problem solving skills in
order for students to become individual thinkers who are not reliant on
someone else's ideas and/or thoughts. It is also my mission to help guide
students to careers in which they can serve someone other than themselves.
