What is your policy on late work?

If work is not turned in on due date, student loses 5 points per day until
work is completed. If a student is absent, they have 1 day for each day
absent to make-up work. For example, if you are absent due to illness for
two days, you will have two days when you return to make-up any missed work.
You will receive a Life Skill Slip for not having work turned in on time or
if work is incomplete.

What if I need to ask Ms. Rains a question after 3:15 p.m.?

I'm usually at school until at least 4:30 p.m. You may call me at school @
528-DOGS. You may also email me at sgrains@twlakes.net. The BEST way to
communicate is by email.

How are my grades averaged?

Classwork/homework count 40%. Tests count 60%.
And, YES, everything we do COUNTS :) Attitude, responsibility, respect for
one another, and the academic work we do.

How do I find out my grade average?

Progress reports are sent out every 4 1/2 wks. Report cards are sent
every 9 wks. If you need an average other than those times, leave a note
in the tray on my desk and I will give you a current print out of your grade
as soon as I can. Usually need at least one day notice.

What if I'm not happy with a 'daily' grade I received?

Study harder!! AND if you aren't satisfied with a grade you received, you
may re-do the work and I will average the two grades together for a final
grade. For example, if you make 60% on a reading lesson, you choose to re-do
the work and receive a 100 on the second paper...you're grade for that
Lesson would become 80%. This does NOT apply to TESTS.
