Hello, I'm Ms. Rains. I was born here in Cookeville. I went to
school at Algood and Putnam County Senior High. I also attended
several high schools in Nashville, graduating from Cohn High School in 1975.
I attended college at the University of Southern Mississippi and earned a
Bachelors degree in Education, K-8. I received a Master's degree in
Administration and Curriculum, K-8 and later I received Specialist
Certification in Reading and Literature, K-12. After attending college in
Mississippi and living on the Gulf Coast from 1976 - 1995, I returned home to
Tennessee. I have 2 children, John 29, works for Tennessee Master Restoration
and lives in Putnam Co. John has an 8 year old son, Will. My daughter,
Adriane, resides in Florida with her two children Dakota,8 and Arianna, 7. I
love READING, TEACHING, MOTORCYCLING,and SCRAPBOOKING and I'm looking forward
to my 27th year of teaching.

GIFT + PASSION + PERSONAL STRENGTHS + SUPPORT = SUCCESS
We must help each child find his GIFT. Then, there has to be
PASSION. The child must enjoy utilizing his gift. Next, a child has to
use one or two of his PERSONAL STRENGTHS to help him get the most out
of his gifts and talents. Personal strengths include such characteristics
as determination, compassion, patience, or perseverance. Finally, each
child needs SUPPORT from teachers, parents, and other caring adults.
