Can I join PTO at anytime?
Absolutely! Membership is open year round and anyone can join for just $5.
When you purchase a membership, you will also receive a DISCOUNT CARD to area
businesses...good until September 2007. PTO's annual Membership Drive for
the
2006-2007 school year is from September 8, 2006 to October 19, 2006. The
class with the highest number of purchased memberships during this time will
receive a special treat. Also, the winning classroom from grades K-4 and
from grades 5-8 will earn their teacher a special treat!
When are PTO meetings?
PTO meetings are scheduled for the third Thursday of every month except for:
December, January, and February. Dates and times are subject to change so
check your child's folders for meeting reminders.
Can I volunteer?
ABSOLUTELY! RCS PTO has great plans for this school year and we need your
help! Volunteering with the PTO gives you the opportunity to create an
atmosphere where teachers and administrators can do their best workand so
can your children.
Volunteering doesnt mean a huge time commitment. An hour or two makes a big
difference. And we have jobs to fit your time schedule and interests. We even
have tasks that dont involve coming to the school at all. RCS is looking
for GREAT volunteers just like you! Fill-out a Membership form today and
select the Volunteer opportunities you are most interested in assisting
with. We look forward to getting to know you!
Why do you collect Food City Receipts?
RCS collected $643,988 in the 2005-2006 Food City Receipts Program. Teachers
redeemed the receipts that they collected for items such as DVD/VCR players,
CD players, scanners, educational software and videos, books, digital
cameras, inflatable solar systems, and calculators. What an easy and
economical way to help our teachers receive free educational tools!
All you have to do is save Food City register tapes (receipts) starting on
September 10, 2006 (we cannot accept receipts before this date). Highlight
or circle Balance Due (we only get credit for the amount paid after coupons
and discounts) and send it in to your childs teacher. Because all receipts
must be tallied and verified, we kindly request that you send in your
receipts on a regular basis and not wait until March 10, 2007!
The preschool 3rd grade classroom and the 4th-8th grade classroom with the
highest balance of receipts dated through December 5, 2006 will each receive
up to $25 for a special treat. The classroom with the highest balance of
receipts dated September 10, 2006 through March 10, 2007 will receive $50 for
an ice cream or pizza party.
In addition, if you bring in Food City receipts to the October 19 PTO
meeting, you will be entered into a drawing for free door prizes. Please
place your receipts in a zipped plastic bag or envelope labeled with the name
of your childs teacher so that he/she will get credit for the receipts.
Dont forget to ask grandparents, aunts and uncles, other relatives, and
friends for their receipts too!
If you have any questions or would like to help tally receipts, please email
me at pto@rcschool.net.
