What if I am tardy?

For eighth grade, tardy is 8:00 am. If you are tardy report to the
attendance person located near the stairwell of the seventh grade hall.
Make
sure you have a note. Upon reporting to class promptly give Ms. Bowman your
tardy slip. Also, you must have yesterdays assignment on your desk and get

What if I have to leave Ms. Bowman's class?

You must get permission and sign out on the provided sheet each time you
leave the class for any reason. You must always carry a hall pass. You
must
report only to the assigned area and return promptly. You will not be
allowed to return to your locker for any reason after the bell rings.
Bathroom breaks should be taken before and after classes. There will be some
exceptions for illness or emergencies. However, if you leave any of my
classes 3 or more times in a week WITHOUT verifiable illness or
corroborating
office or teacher verification, you will be required to meet with me
(Teacher
Meeting). Two or more TMs in one grading period that deal with this issue
will result in a detention.

What if I am absent?

Daily attendance is essential to a positive learning experience; however,
there are times when an absence is necessary. It is your responsibility to
find out the work you have missed. If you have an excused absence, you will
be given two extra days per absence to make up your work. If you are absent
3 days, you will have 6 days to make up your work. A white notebook in my
room will contain a form listing all of your makeup work for my classes. It
is YOUR responsibility to pick up your makeup work. Staple the form to all
of your missed assignments and put it in the absentee late-work basket.
No make-up work will be accepted without a form attached. (A student-
supplied piece of paper detailing dates of absences, subjects, and page
numbers may be substituted for the form, but only those assignments listed
will be graded.)
