My K-12 education was completed in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and I earned my BS
and MA from Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tennessee. My degrees are in
Elementary and Music Education with my Specialist Degree in Early Childhood
(birth - grade 4). I am an Early Childhood Specialist, and I am highly
qualified to teach all classroom subjects K-6 and music K-12.
I have always enjoyed school and working with young children. Third grade
is my favorite grade to teach.
My classroom mission is to maintain a child-centered environment where all
students gain the educational, physical, and social skills necessary for
success in third grade and for their future. My purpose is to motivate and
challenge the brilliant young minds that are in my care.
My classroom is a place where children feel safe to explore many new
concepts without the threat of being crushed intellectually. As my students
grow and develop academically, I encourage each to become effective
communicators in both written and oral expression.
When my student's scholastic and personal goals are accomplished, we find time
to celebrate and build memories.
