How do I send money to school?
If sending any money to school, please send it in an envelope or Ziploc bag
marked with your childs name, my name, the $ amount, and what it is for.
Checks do not need to be in an envelope, but please write what the check is
for in the blank in the lower left corner of the check.
What do I do after my child is absent?
Write a letter so that your child's absence can be excused. Doctor's notes
are always acceptable! I will send home the work that your child missed.
Please have your child work on it, and send it back by the end of the week.
How can I communicate with the teacher?
Daily Folder:
Each student will have a folder that will include any daily work and
class notes from our school. It is your childs advantage that you review
this work together on a daily basis. Please have you child bring this in
every day they come to school. The folder pocket is the best place to put a
note that needs to be seen first thing in the morning or to put any money
envelopes.
Agenda Books:
The Wilson County School System has provided all students with
agenda books. The children will be assigned homework in this book
(assignments will be given on Lesson Line). Children will bring their
agenda book s in daily with his/her folder for a homework check and a means
of communication between us. Remember to initial the discipline in the
agendas.
What are Secret Sacks?
Secret Sacks:
Much of what your child learns this year will be through themes
(i.e. holidays, bears, insects, etc.) and childrens literature. We will
explain this further at Parent Night. We will be studying and reviewing a
letter each week. Your child is encouraged to bring in a Secret Sack to
go along with the letter of the week. A Secret Sack is a small brown
lunch sack with ONE item inside that begins with the letter we are
studying. A picture may be used if an item cannot be found (the picture can
be cut from a magazine, newspaper, or from the internet). On the outside,
print 3 clues to help the children guess what is inside. Please go over the
clues with your child before he/she sends it in so he/she can share it with
the class during circle time. The children LOVE it!!! This becomes very
exciting to find something that no one else has found. We look forward to
seeing what the children bring.
An example of a secret sack:
Clue 1: You can eat it.
Clue 2: It is on a stick.
Clue 3: It comes in different flavors.

What are the school hours?
School Hours:
Our school day officially begins at 7:15 a.m. for instruction;
students will be counted tardy if not in the room by 7:15. Students may
arrive as early as 6:45 a.m. to be supervised by the teachers in the gym.
Kindergarteners need to go to the gym if they arrive before 7:05. Bus
riders, daycares, and car riders will be dismissed at 2:15. Upon Mrs.
Robinsons request for the safety of the children, all students are to be
put on a bus, daycare van, or picked up in the car line. The only exception
will be if your child is signed out before 2:10.
How do I change the way my child goes home?
Transportation:
If there are any changes in how your child will be picked up or sent
home, please let us know. Your child will be sent home by the usual method
unless we receive a signed note telling us otherwise. Please understand
that verbal instruction from a Kindergartener as to changes in
transportation are not acceptable for their own safety.
Absences:
Even though a student may insist on coming to school, one who has
been ill during the night is often not up to par the next day and usually
will benefit from a quiet day at home. Children should be fever free for 24
hours before returning to school. When a student returns to school, please
send a note explaining the absence so it will be excused.
