to take it to the teacher so she can initial it.
The number of strikes received
and the corresponding consequences are as follows:
1 strike—
written warning to student
2 strikes—second
written warning to student
3 strikes—loss
of recess
4 strikes—loss
of recess, warning note home to parents to be signed, and office notification

CLUB REWARD POLICY
The fourth grade teaching team
of StonerCreekElementary
School
believes that attention to classroom work,
regular attendance, and good
behavior is essential in developing a well-rounded student.
In an effort to encourage
these qualities, we provide
incentive rewards for those who do their part.
At the end of each nine weeks,
all students who meet the following “80-90-100” criteria will be rewarded with
a special
activity.
“80” The student must have at
least an 80 average when reading, language arts, math, social studies, and
science
are averaged together and a
passing grade must be earned in music, art, and physical education.
“90”
The student must be in attendance for 90% of the days in the nine weeks,
usually 40 out of 45 days present.
Any absences must be excused,
and all excuses must be in writing, no phone calls. Extended
illnesses will be considered on an individual basis.
“100” The student must have 100%
good behavior. The student is allowed 9 strikes in a 9 weeks period and can
still
be considered 100%. The student
CANNOT have any in-school or out-of-school suspensions and no bus suspensions.
The
reward activity for each nine weeks will be based on one period of time and
not a carry-over from the previous 9 weeks.
REWARDS
4th grade teachers distribute
tickets to students as a reward for appropriate behavior.
Tickets will be able to be
redeemed to any 4th grade teacher during class changes, right at
the beginning or end of
class. In general, the following
prices will apply:
20 tickets- pencil
30 tickets- line the class up
50 tickets- two small pieces of
candy
75 tickets- homework pass
(teacher reserves the right to not allow a pass to be used for a specific
assignment)
100 tickets- full size candy bar
100 tickets- soda
500 tickets- Friday Night Movie
Night (Movie night will be offered during the last 9 weeks. The students can
purchase
the privilege to watch a movie
here at school. We will provide snacks, candy and drinks. The students can
bring
pillows, blankets and wear
appropriate (out of dress code) clothing.
During the last 9 weeks, we will
hold an auction. This auction will last all day and the students can purchase
items.
The items are donated to us by
families and are a range of items from toys to teacher supplies to posters and
books.
Class work
Students will be given ample
time to work on assignments. If the student does not finish an assignment, we
ask that it
be placed in the student’s
binder and completed during study hall. We have built in a mandatory study
hall time that
everyone will be working in,
whether it is class work, homework or reading for AR. There is additional
study hall offered
during recess.
After three missing
assignments, your child will be assigned to attend after school detention.
This detention is at the
parent’s choice of either coming to school at 6 am or staying after school
until 3:15.
Tests
Your child will be given ample
time to prepare for tests. Please check your child’s agenda daily so you will
know when
a test is coming up. WRITING THE
TEST NOTICES IN THE AGENDA IS THE STUDENT’S RESPONSBILITY
Homework Policy as adopted by
the 4th Grade Teachers
-
There will not be a set homework
schedule.
-
As teachers, we will do our best
not to assign over 40 minutes of homework each night.
-
Some nights, there may be no
homework at all.
-
WRITING ASSIGNMENTS IN THE
AGENDA IS THE STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY.
When homework is assigned, we
expect it to be completed. This
is a responsibility factor as well as an academic factor in the development of
your child’s life. When
homework is not completed, a strike is given for not being prepared and that
student may be asked to attend study hall to make up the assignment. After
three missing homework assignments, the student will be asked to attend after
school detention. This detention is at the parent’s choice of either coming to
school at 6 am or staying after school until 3:30.
Agenda
Communication is given through
the agenda. Please check it daily for assignments, happenings and notes from
the teacher. All homework and papers to go home will be sent in the front
pocket of the agenda. You should sign the agenda each day. At the end of the
week, tickets will be given for getting the agenda signed (one ticket for each
day).
Website
Please check the website
routinely as we will update it with announcements, assignments, learning
standards, spelling lists and happenings.
