Study Island

Study Island
Study Island is a web based program that will help your child
master the state mandated curriculum. This program quizzes the
student on topics in the content areas. The use of Study Island
is required. We encourage students to use it at home; however, if
you do not have internet access, time will be permitted during
the school day. The child will be going to the computer lab twice
a week to use SI, he or she will be given some library time; they
may use the study hall periods and any down class time to work on
SI assignments.

Your child's log in name is his/her first & last name together
followed by @sce. Example: If a student's name was Sam Smith,
the log in name would be samsmith@sce. The password for the
account is the student’s choice. Rest assured that we can look up
forgotten passwords and if any passwords are inappropriate, they
will be asked to be changed. The
only people with access to your child's password are you, your
child, your
child's teacher, and our principals.

The quizzes are in multiple choice formats. Games can be played
while taking the quizzes. Please read the policies below
regarding these.

Study Island Assignments
Ample time will be given to complete all assignments. All
assignments are written in the student’s agenda. THE WRITING OF
THESE ASSIGNMENTS IS THE STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY. We ask that
students do not attempt a quiz unless it is first given as an
assignment. He or she can always retake quizzes to help study and
review for TCAP but do NOT go forward.

•	The first time your child attempts an assignment (quiz),
the student should attempt 15 questions. If SI does not have 15
questions, choose as many as possible. Choose the option of
taking the test in test mode. With no games, the student’s focus
will be more on answering the questions.
•	If the student has an 80 (C) or above, they may take the
test again and can play games. Each time the test is taken, an
average of scores is taken so the grade may increase or decrease
based upon the attempts made.
•	If the student has below an 80, they need to work on
bringing the score up and are asked not to play games until they
do.
•	The student’s goal is to have at least an 80 by the due
date of the assignment.
•	These assignments may be taken as a grade in the
teacher’s grade book and counted towards the 9 weeks average.

Tickets~ for every 100 questions the student completes with an
80% or above, 10 tickets will be awarded.

Happy playing! :)
