Rules / Consequences

Our Classroom Rules are the Pillars of Character

  • BE RESPONSIBLE!
  • BE RESPECTFUL!
  • BE TRUSTWORTHY!
  • BE CARING and FAIR!
  • BE a GOOD CITIZEN!

The consequences are designed to teach the students that they have choices. They learn that choices have consequences - both good and bad. They learn to take ownership of the choices that they make. If their clothespin is moved from one color to the next, the student will read the card and then serve the consequence that goes with it.

  • White - I am so proud of myself for the choices that I am making. I'm showing that I have good character. I'm having a great day.
  • Blue - I'm on blue. This is my warning. I need to stop and think about the choices that I am making. I need to practice good character.
  • Green - I'm on green. I will lose some recess. My teacher will talk to me about my choices. I need to get under some self-control.
  • Yellow - I'm on yellow. I don't get any recess. I'm going to write a letter to my teacher and my parents about my behavior choices today.
  • Orange - I'm on orange. I will be removed from my class and I will have to call my parents. They will be disappointed in my behavior choices.
  • Red - I'm on red. I will have to go to the principal's office to discuss my behavior. My teachers, parents and principals expect me to make better choices.
