Mrs. Hammett has been a second grade teacher in the Morgan County School
System for many years. She has a Bachelor's Degree from Middle Tennessee
State University, a Master's Degree from Tennessee Tech University, and an
Educational Specialist Degree from the University of Tennessee.She has been
nominated for the Educator of the Year award for Sunbright School, and in
1999, She was chosen as Sunbright School's Elementary Educator of the Year.
During that same year she was also chosen as Morgan County's Elementary
Educator of the Year. She has also been nominated to be in Who's Who of
American Teachers two times. During the 2005-2006 school year she was
honored as a National Honor Roll's Outstanding American Teacher.

From 1990 to 1991 I worked as Chapter One Aide in Grand Oaks Elementary
School in Anderson County. I worked in the Kindergarten classes helping the
teachers improve the reading and writing skills of students.
1991-present Second Grade Teacher, Morgan County Schools
In 1991 I was hired to fill the position of Second Grade Teacher at Sunbright
School in Morgan County. Through the years I have taught the students the
curriculum described by the state of Tennessee as well as other skills that
students will need to be successful in life.
The Mission of Sunbright School is to develop responsible, self-sufficient,
skilled, and productive citizens by providing a diverse, dynamic, and
superior educational program, which will empower our students to meet the
challenges of the future.
