I graduated in 2003 from Maryville College with a bachelor's degree in Child
Developmet and Learning with Teacher Licensure. I am certified to teach K-8
in the state of Tennessee. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania. Although
I am not a native of Tennessee, I love the area. This is my ninth year
teaching 2nd grade at TPES. I live in Madisonville with my husband,
our two boys, Slade and Keegan, and our dog Libby. I like to spend time
with my boys, read, and spend time outdoors.
I believe that all children can learn, if given the right tools. Our
classroom will strive to be a place where all children will have the
opportunity to show their individual strengths and build upon their
individual differences. I believe that education and learning should be fun,
exciting, and challenging. If young children develop a love for learning at
an early age, that love will continue to grow as they do. Through various
teaching strategies I will do my part to encourage and motivate each child
to achieve at their highest level and develop into life-long learners. I
know that education is a partnership between home, school, and community. I
am available at anytime for parent conferences, concerns, or questions.
Through working together, we can make 2nd grade an enjoyable and challenging
experience.
