corrections. Tomorrow we will do another assignment with solving one step
inequalities that will be counted as a test grade.

10/6 Math Detective cases 17-22 for warm up activity. We went to the
computer lab and did some review activities on solving one step inequalities
and to get caught up on computer lab assignments. We returned to the
classroom to take our test on solving one step inequalities. Math detective
worksheet is homework if you were unable to finish it during class.

10/5 We watched a video on solving equations then followed up with a
worksheet. We also watched a video on solving inequalities and followed it
with a worksheet also. Inequalities test tomorrow.

9/25 We spent the entire class period in the computer lab. We did two
activities in Brainpop- watching the movies and emailing the graded quiz to
Mrs. Smith for "Inequalities" and "Graphing and solving inequalities". We
then went to Mrs. Smith's website, clicked on "Inequalities Links". We
watched the videos available there and played the concentration game. After
that, we went to myskillstutor.com and completed the "Solving one step
inequalities" lesson there. Students were given the last five minutes to
check their grades on powerschool and were encouraged to take care of
missing assignments.

9/24 We solved more addition and subtraction inequalities today on a
worksheet as a warmup. We worked the five "dirty rat" problems together,
and
then worked similar problems on whiteboards. We then took notes on solving
multiplication and division inequalities.

9/23 We solved simple addition and subtraction inequalities today on a

problems are "backwards" subtraction and division equations. Please turn it
in tomorrow if you were unable to finish it during class. We then took notes
on graphing inequalities.

9/18 We solved addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
equations
on a worksheet and then played bingo with the answers.

equations links on the "Class Links" page. Six Weeks test is tomorrow, and
all make up work is due tomorrow.

9/14 Workbook page 30 problems 9-26 were intended to be a warmup, but took
the entire class time. Be ready to learn how to solve multiplication and
division equations tomorrow.

9/11 We did the odd problems on workbook page 29 as a warmup. We then
checked our answers together and did the rest of the problems on
whiteboards.

9/10 Students completed Math Detective worksheet cases 8-16 as a warm up.

reviewed. Students also took the integer test.

9/4 Students were given the entire period to work on an integer review
packet. The packet is homework if students were unable to finish it during
class. The packet will be graded for correct answers to math problems, not
according to the coloring or correct riddle answer. Students should skip
problem 4 on "Why is it good to have holes in your t-shirts?" The integer
test next Tuesday, September 8 will be over integer addition, subtraction,
multiplication and division as well as order of operations and evaluating
expressions with integers. Students will be allowed to use their notes from
their math journals, but will not be allowed to use a calculator on the
test.

9/3 We checked last night's homework. We took notes on the coordinate
plane
and practiced plotting points on a worksheet. The worksheet is homework if
you were unable to finish it during class. Make sure that you turn the
worksheet in first thing in the morning. Thank you!

activity. "River Rapids" is homework if you were unable to finish it
during
class. Yesterday's quiz was returned to the students and they were able to
make corrections. Students are encouraged to look at the papers in their
folders at any time. We began taking notes on exploring real numbers. We
will finish these notes tomorrow.

8/26 We did an order of operations worksheet as a warm up activity. "Good

We took notes on Evaluating Expressions. Be prepared for quiz on variables
and expressions, order of operations, and evaluating expressions on Monday
or
Tuesday.

8/19 We made corrections to yesterday's warmup. We used whiteboards to
practice order of operations problems. At the end of class we did the timed
multiplication drill C.

procedures
Friday. We reviewed a few problems from the beginning of course test. We
learned how to change a fraction grade into a percentage grade. We put our
portfolios together. We prepared our journals for the year and took a few
notes on variables and expressions. We will finish notes tomorrow and begin
practice problems.

8/11 We took a beginning of course test to assess students' existing math
skills. Please return both copies of the procedures if you did not do so
today.

8/10 Reviewed rules and procedures for class. Both copies of the
procedures
should be signed by student and parent and returned tomorrow for grade.
Parents: There is a parent survey on my website that I would like you to
