Language-
Monday through Thursday we will work on skills in our books together as a class. The students will have to work in their workbooks daily to be sure they understand the concept.
Friday- PAMS quiz on the skills learned that week
Spelling-
Monday- chart on the skill for the week and write challenge words
Tuesday- book work and definitions
Wednesday- proof reading worksheet and ABC order
Thursday- review pretest, review worksheet, game/overlay (if time)
Friday- Spelling TEST (write challenge words and review words, basic words are multiple choice.
Social Studies/Science- We will be using our book to discuss Social Studies/Science this year. The students will have to keep a folder on the activities. They will also work through their workbooks to be sure they understand the skills being taught. They will have 1 project each 9 weeks. We will test at the end of each unit. Students will be given a study sheet.
Reading- There will be a story each week for the students to read for comprehension. They may be allowed to read in groups or on their own. We will have activites in class to review the vocabulary words and reading comprehension. We will also have a reading skill each week.
Monday- vocabulary definitions and workbook pg. on vocabulary
Tuesday- read the story in class
Wednesday- comprehension questions and review of vocabulary (quiz)
Thursday- TEST on the story
Friday- skill lesson (quiz)
They must also read in their AR books every night. They are required to test on 5 books each nine weeks. Don't forget to sign their planner each night.
Math-
Students will be allowed to work problems out on the board, use a white board, work with a partner, play games, use manipulatives, and explore learning math in may ways this year. As they master a skill, we will then test before moving on. They will use their math books in class and will work through their workbooks. They are also required to study thier mult. tables each night.
