Pre-k begins at 8:00. We begin accepting students at 7:50. Students may not enter the room before 7:50. Arrival will be at the side of the school. Please stay in your can and I will come outside and get your child from the car. Stay in your car and I or Mrs. Carter will get your child from you. We will bring the sign-in sheet to you. Please have your child at school on time. Dismissal will begin at 1:20 at the front of the school. Please stay in the car until your child is placed in the car. We will bring the sign-out sheet for you to sign. Please make sure the person picking up your child is on the release form. Please make sure your child is picked up by 1:30. If you pick up your child late, that does not provide me with adequate time for preparation. Please remember you signed a late policy. Let's make this year a great one! What do I need in my child's change of clothes? Pants, shirt (collared), socks, and underwear Why does it appear that my child is always playing? Believe it or not, your child is doing more than just playing. He or she is learning a life skill! Just Playing When I'm building in the block room, Please don't say I'm "Just Playing." For, you see, I'm learning as I play; About balance and shapes. When I'm getting all dressed up, Setting the table, caring for the babies, Don't get the idea I'm "Just Playing." For, you see, I'm learning as I play; I may be a mother or a father someday. When you see me up to my elbows in paint, Or standing at an easel, or molding and shaping clay, Please don't let me hear you say, "He is Just Playing." For, you see, I'm learning as I play. I'm expressing myself and being creative. I may be an artist or an inventor someday. When you see me sitting in a chair "Reading" to an imaginary audience, Please don't laugh and think I'm "Just Playing." For, you see, I'm learning as I play. I may be a teacher someday. When you see me combing the bushes for bugs, Or packing my pockets with choice things I find, Don't pass it off as "Just Play." For, you see, I'm learning as I play. I may be a scientist someday. When you see me engrossed in a puzzle, Or some 'plaything' at my school, Please don't feel the time is wasted in "Play." For, you see, I'm learning as I play. I'm learning to solve problems and concentrate. I may be in business someday. When you see me cooking or tasting foods, Please don't think that because I enjoy it, it is "Just Play." I'm learning to follow directions and see differences. I may be a chef someday. When you see me learning to skip, hop, run, and move my body, Please don't say I'm "Just Playing." For, you see, I'm learning as I play. I'm learning how my body works. I may be a doctor, nurse or athlete someday. When you ask me what I've done at school today, And I say, "I Just Played." Please don't misunderstand me. For, you see, I'm learning as I play. I'm learning to enjoy and be successful in my work. I'm preparing for tomorrow. Today, I'm a child and my work is play. Do I need to sign my child's agenda each day? Yes. Sometimes, I will leave messages in the agenda. Also, if you have anything I need to know, please write it in there. What all do I need to send to school everyday? Your child needs to bring his or her backpack everyday. Along with the backpack, please send the agenda and take home folder. Please make sure to check your child's backpack every night. Does my child need to be in dress code everyday? Yes. The dress code is enforced everyday. Please do your best to do this.
