All juniors will be taking the TN State Writing Assessment during first
period on Tuesday, Feb. 2. They will have 35 minutes to write a persuasive
essay (5 paragraphs) on a topic (prompt) supplied by the state. See menue
for more details.
Parent-Teacher Conferences are on Tuesday, Feb. 16, from 12-7:00. These
conferences are scheduled after the first 4-week report goes out. I look
forward to seeing you there. Room A-112.
Ms. Cathy Mitchell will be talking to juniors on Friday, Jan. 22, about
winning a free trip to Washington D.C. from June 11-17. Many of my students
have won this incredible opportunity in the past. I encourage all my
students to write the required essay.
Friday, Feb. 12 is the last day to turn in the $3 English fee that is used to
purchase paper, ink, pens, pencils, etc. for the classroom.
Quill and Scroll Awards and Induction Banquet is Thursday, Jan. 28, at 6:30.
All newspaper and year book students are invited, along with their parents.
