Eng III--
In literature we are studying Arthur Miller's The Crucible, set in Salem
during the witch trials.
In writing, we will be focusing on persuasive writing to prepare for the TN
Writing Assesssment in Feb. At the moment, we are writing a
comparison/contrast to hone skills using documentation in literary anaysis.
In vocabulary, we put words to know on the board every day as they pop up in
our reading or writing. Eng III Honors has a vocabulary workbook and are
tested every Friday on a unit.
In usage and mechanics, we do reviews every day--with longer assignments as
needed.
All assignments and classroom activities focus on ACT preparation and will
involve higher order analytical skill building.
Newspaper--We are selling ads to finance an issue every four weeks. Our goal
is to win awards in state competition in the spring.
Middle TN Electric will be here this fall to offer juniors an opportunity to
win an all-expense trip to Washington D.C. this summer. The essay is due by
the end of Feb.
