I am the Resource teacher here at West Elementary. This year I will be
teaching resource for all grades, as well as providing consultation for
students receiving those services.
I am really excited about working with your child this year! We will be
using the Language! Program for Reading and English remediation
and acceleration. We will also be using the Carbo Reading Program to
strengthen reading comprehension. We will be using the Saxon Math Program
for Math. We will be using the Making Math Real Program for supplemental
hands on and practice activities.
I also want to stress the importance of keeping the lines of communication
open between home and school. For this reason, I ask that you check your
child's agenda every night. He/She will bring it to class every day. I
will keep you updated on assignments and classroom behavior. A
progress report will go home every two weeks, which needs to be signed and
returned. You may also see reading assignments and homework written in the agenda periodically. Please,practice reading, writing, and math at home. Your involvement is key to you child's success.
