I have spent my entire teaching career at West Elementary. I have
taught second grade through fifth grade, with the majority of my teaching
years spent with fourth grade.
I was born in Detroit, Michigan. My family and I moved to Tennessee
when I was in the fifth grade. The school I attended was Tuckers Cross
Roads Elementary. Tuckers was a very small elementary school with only four
teachers. It was quite an adjustment for me to ride a school bus. I believe
our bus broke down either to school or on the way home at least once a
week.
I graduated from Lebanon High School. I then attended Middle Tennessee
State University where I received my Bachelors and Master Degrees. I later
received my plus 30 hours with some work done at Cumberland University and
Middle Tennessee State University. I added additional certification to my
degrees with 30 more hours of graduate work. I've always loved learning and
going to school.
I enjoy traveling to Knoxville for all the home UT football games and
many of their away games as well. I also love the TITANS, I'm also at all the
Titan's home games. My weekends are very busy in the fall with loads of
football. I'm really happy on Monday when both my teams win,(not so much
when we lose)but I'm always excited, and eagerly waiting the next game.
Teaching is the passion of my life. I love to see my students light up
when they "get it". Their smiles and joy of learning is my happiness of life.
We are always striving to make the best better!
