| West Valley Middle's guidance suite is centraly located and consists of
three offices. Two school counselors and a part-time social worker are
available to students per the requests of our students, parents, teachers, or
administration. An adjacent room serves as a mini-computer lab or a guidance
classroom.The guidance suite also has conference space and a comfortable
lobby area that is used for small group counseling and hospitality functions.
Role of the Counselor:
The counselors provide individual, small group and classroom counseling
sessions that pertain to age appropriate issues.
The counselors will serve as a resource in decreasing discipline problems
through cousneling intervention sessions.
The counselors will offer orientations for incoming 6th Graders and new
students attending our school.
The counselors will assist 8th Graders in high school testing and
registration.
The counselors will participate in parent conferences, IEP meeting, S-team
meetings as needed.
