Policies

DRESSING OUT – Your child is required to be dressed in appropriate clothing for P.E. class. He/She must wear shorts/sweatpants, a t-shirt, and tennis shoes. These items may be worn to school OR students may choose to change into them at the beginning of class. Although a white t-shirt is no longer required, we have West Valley t-shirts for sale in the P.E. Dept. for $5.00.

EXCUSE NOTES – Should your child need to sit out of Physical Education class due to recent illness or injury, you must send a note to his/her P.E. teacher stating the reason and length of time to sit out. If your child will need to sit out more than 2 days; a doctor’s statement will be required. Your Doctor may fax a note to the school-- 539-5155.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS – Physician diagnosed conditions such as diabetes, epilepsy, asthma, bee sting allergies, heart conditions, etc., need to be brought to our attention with a doctor’s statement, including necessary modifications. We are interested in modifying our program for students with permanent or temporary limitations.

GRADING - Students grade will be determined by the following: 60% participation, 30% dressing out, and 10% written or skills assessment.
