Homework Class 2B

3-25  We worked on slope intercept form today.  y = mx + b.  In this form, m = slope, and b = y intercept (the place where the graph crosses the y axis.)

Homework:  p. 294, 6-48 even.

3-27:  We are working on finding slope given 2 points.  the formula for slope is m =(y₂ - y₁ ) / (x ₂- x ₁ )          You will take the difference in the x's divided by the difference in the y's.

                    This slope gives us the rise over  the run.         The Rate of Change is used with graphs,  also used in story problems.  Take the change in the y's (the range) over the change in  the x's  (domain).          In a chart for a graph, the first value is for domain/ second is for range.
