Teenagers and Math are two of my favorite things. Put them together and
there's never a dull moment!
My goal every day is for my students to learn something new--skills,
techniques, methods, etc. and then apply those to problem-solving which
require them to think through a plan of action.
Homework
"Homework makes a difference" is posted in my room and it's true. My
students know that I don't give free days, so we work every day. My goal is
for them to finish the bulk of the assignment in class which should eliminate
the need for much actual homework. "Geometry is probably not the
most important thing in your life, but it needs to be your focus for the next
51 minutes" is also posted in my room. Not every student is "gifted" in the
math area, but all students can learn how to do math. It takes focus and
effort. I am available for help before school from 7:30 to 7:45 and during
homeroom daily.
