Both the men and women choirs will be singing at the State Adjudication festival on April 29th!!!
They performed on March 3rd along with the freshmen choir. The freshmen received an excellent rating which is the second highest as well as a superior rating in sight reading. Sight reading is where the students look at a piece of music for the first time and sing it without any preparation. The Men and Women choirs both received a Superior rating in both the performance and the sight reading. They will move on to perform in the state adjudication festival in April.
Here is our most recent activity.
Over Spring break we took 17 students to Memphis, TN for the Regional American Choral Director's Association Honor Choir. The students rehearsed for days, and put on a fantastic performance to show their hard work. These students had to audition against other high school students across the region. Congrats!
We also sent 3 quartets to Chattanooga, TN for the Regional Sweet Adeline Competition. We had a quartet place 1st, another placed 4th, and yet another placed 8th. These ladies have been working hard all year for this, and it has paid off. WAY TO GO!!
10th-12th grade students. We are planning taking a trip to Atlanta, GA this
April. I handed out the itinerary to the students today so that you can look
over the plan and cost. I have asked the students to come back Monday with a
good idea whether or not they will plan to attend. That would help me sleep at
night. thanks! I have attached an itinerary in the "links" page.
