I would like to welcome you and your child to the third grade at Algood Elementary School. I am thrilled
to have the opportunity to teach your child. I am a graduate of Putnam County High School, and I
received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Masters of Arts degree in Early
Childhood Education from TTU. This is my 37th year teaching at Algood School. I am happily married to
David Friedman. I have two wonderful children, Alicia Dianne Bowman and Sarah Jane Qualls. I have two
beautiful granddaughters, Logan Baylee Bowman age 5 and Sydney Wren Bowman age 2, and twin step-
grandsons,Tanner John and Aidan Leigh Orton age 6. I enjoy playing with my grandchildren, spending
time with my family, and working outdoors.
My mission is to provide an atmosphere for students to learn and feel successful. Third grade is a year
for students to learn more independence and responsibility. Parent's, you play a very important role in
your child's education, I hope that by working together, we can make this a very successful year for
your child.
