SPELLING
There will be no spelling test this week. However, there will be word wall tests on Tuesday and
Wednesday.
READING-There will be a test over the following new word wall words on Tuesday:
pair, pear, pare, steal, steel, still, pail, pale, road, rode, rowed. deer, dear, plane, plain
A word bank will be provided.
ENGLISH- I hope you enjoyed reading your child's poem about YOU in the Sunday newspaper. If you
haven't yet, you will want to do so. They were very sweet poems...from the heart!
Also, we will have a Word Wall Test over all of the words we have learned this year. (excluding the ones
above in Reading) A word bank will be provided. Your child should have a study guide in his/her folder
today.
MATH-We will learn about combinations by linking this to prior knowledge. (how many different ways
to tie-dye a shirt). We will also cover pages 320-321 "Missing or Extra Information, and pages 322-323
decimal review.
Social Studies- We will have a retest on Tuesday. Your child should have a paper for you to sign today if
he/she is having to retake this test.
Science-We will study Chapter 5, "Earth's Resources." If your child has a rock collection he/she would
like to share, please send it in any day this week. We will also learn about plants. We planted some
sunflowers today hoping they will sprout in a week!
Reminders:
Field Trip on Thursday-Wear tie dye shirt and bring lunch/drink from home if you signed up to do so.
Please have your child wear comfortable shoes since we are going to a park to play.
