~On Tuesday, Feb.14, we will be having a Valentine's Activity Rotation day. We will rotate from room to room through out the First Grade doing standards based activities and games. Please have your child address a Valentine for each child in our class and have them at school by Monday, Feb.13. Your child will also need to decorate a box or bag to hold all of their Valentines and have it at school by the 13th as well. Be creative and have fun!
~You may have noticed different types of homework in your child's red folder. This is to help to prepare them for 2nd Grade. We will soon be increasing the number of spelling words, as well.
~Please practice the circled words in your child's reading folder that comes home each week. The folder needs to be kept at home until the next Monday. I will give a quiz on some of the words at different times during the year.
~Feb. 20- President's Day; no school
~Feb. 21- Music and Movement night; 5:30-7:00
~Feb. 22- Class Pictures/ Individual Pictures
~March 2- End of 3rd nine weeks
~March 5-16- Spring Break
~If your child is a car rider in the afternoon, please remember to use your "car rider sign" with your child's name. It will speed up the car line and get you and your child home sooner. :)
~Please send a sweater or jacket with your child. The temperature can vary from room to room.
~Don't forget to feed your Hippocampus every night before you go to bed!!! 5-10 minutes of reviewing your vocabulary words, spelling words, and math facts will help your brain remember them in your sleep!
