I have been teaching at Algood School for 21 years; in fact, I was born and
raised only one mile from the original Algood School. My husband, Steve and I
have been married for 22 years, and we reside on Mtn. Top Ln. on Buck
Mountain. We have two daughters. Audrey is 17 and a senior at Cookeville
High School. Meredith is 13 and is in eighth grade here at Algood.
We are members of Steven's Street Baptist Church. I enjoy sleeping in on
Saturdays; watching movies on on Lifetime and vacationing in Destin, Florida
in October. And my favorite food is CHOCOLATE. :)
As your child's FIRST teacher, my hope is to instill in him/her a love for
school; to learn the importance of being part of a class and a love to learn.
As a kindergarten teacher I am blessed to be a part of many "firsts" for your
child... reading his/her FIRST word; losing his/her FIRST tooth; writing his/her
name for the FIRST time and many more. It is important that EVERY child feel
successful in his/her first year of school.
I look forward to watching them grow and learn academically, socially and
emotionally. They will learn many life's lessons that I hope will follow them
into adulthood. Through my nurturing, love, consistency and humor, I hope to ac-
complish these meaningful tasks.
