I am looking forward to a great year! As I help my own children prepare for their approaching school
year, I remember that this is an exciting time of year for all. My older son will be a sophmore at the
TTU, and my youngest son is a rising junior at CHS.
My husband and I are originally from Missouri. We have lived in Cookeville for 12 years and have
really enjoyed it. My sister and parents live here as well.
I have been teaching for 10 years and before that I worked as an R.N. I love teaching-
especially fourth grade at Algood School. I feel so fortunate to work with such great students,
parents, and a wonderful faculty of caring professionals!
I am excited to meet your child and teach them many new things this year. Finding out what your
child likes to do and read will help me, help them. I think we will have a wonderful classroom
community.
The mission of our class begins with a positive attitude. I want each child to feel comfortable and
happy at school. I want every student to excel to their personal highest potential. Challenges are
exciting and healthy in our classroom, and I do have high expectations that are reasonable for each
child. I believe that students who are productive and excited about learning will achieve their goals in a
confident manner.
Our classroom community members will be respectful of each other everyday. I want the students to
grow academically and socially in fourth grade. We can all learn from each other, and this I look
forward to as we begin our 2009-2010 school year in our beautiful new building!
