BUSY WEEK! YMCA Swimming lessons on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Remember your swimming suits and towel.
FRIDAY-Dress Like A Book Character Day. Wear your outfit for your book report. We will do the book reports first thing in the morning and then change into swimsuits for lessons. Breakfast treats for the morning while we listen to book reports.
Reading: Johnny Appleseed a play/folktale
Vocabulary: frontier, survive, nearby, tame, wild, orchards
Skill: Tall Tales genre; reading for main idea
Spelling: pioneers, cheers, reindeer, steer, peer, clearing, hear, nearby, year, beard, remark, alarm, sleep, country, rain. 15 words for spelling test on Friday each week. Check out

Language Arts: Identifying common and proper nouns. Writing days of the week. Homophones: dear/deer, here/hear.
Math: Adding 2 and 3 digit numbers without regrouping (carrying).
Science: Spider Unit: arachnids, spiderlings, 8-legs, 2 body parts, webs, orb web, spinneret, egg sac, compare and contrast with insect group.
