The state of Tennessee along with all other states is making a concerted effort to intice more
students into engineering programs. Countries from all parts of the globe have students in our
colleges engineering programs and are taking the USA to task in these areas. It is of great
concern to the manucturing community.
NEWS FROM the INTERNET: Five of the top six entry level jobs were engineering disciplines.
CAD I and Advanced CAD along with Principles of Machining and MAnufacturing with Manufacturing
Applications are classes to help the beginning college engineering student.
CAD I is the new name for the previously named Engineering Design/CAD program. The manual
drawing content will be dramatically changed. There will be less hours spent in manual drafting
in CAD I.
Advanced students will work primarily in SolidWORKS and Chief Architect.
Safety will be of prime concern as always. There will be more safety tests in PMM this yrear.
