What is CAD I?

CAD I is Computer Aided Drafting I.  This is a 2 credit course 
taken over two trimesters.

What work areas use CAD I?

CAD is used in manufacturing, construction, engineering and 
architectural 
companies.  All building trades use CAD.  Products for 
manufacture are 
produced from blueprints.  Interior design uses CAD.  Animation 
businesses 
use CAD.

Who can be successful in CAD I?

Students who have the desire to be successful can be successful 
in this 
class.  Study helps are provided to facilitate learning.  
Students will be 
allowed to work at their own pace under most situations.

How much math do I have to have to be successful?

CAD uses basic mathematics, i.e., multiplication, adding, 
subtraction, and 
division.  Both Englisn and Metrics are used.  Fractions and 
decimals are 
studied and implemented.  GEometry is a plus.

What is Principles of Machining and Manufacturing?

This class teaces the fundamentals of machining; focusing on the 
major 
machine groups, i.e. lathes, milling machines, drill presses, 
saws, welders 
etc.  Safety is a big component of each unit.  Product analysis, 
cost of 
manufacture, OSHA, competencies, quality and employablity are 
jsut a few of 
the items discussed in this class.

How hard are these units to learn?

EAch student starts with simple and works to complex; each day 
getting more 
proficient in operations.  AT the end of course each student has 
learned  
the basics to many procedures.

What is a trimester?

We are now on three twelve week blocks.  Tri--mester.  This has 
replaced two eighteen week blocks.
