Homework

There will not be a lot of homework for Physical Science. Most assignements 
will be completed during classtime, but there will be times when homework 
will be given. Honors Physics will have homework and out of class 
assignments.

I will try to post what we did in class at the end of each day. 

WEEK OF: August 11th-15th

Monday: 'Serious Snooping' WS (front and back); Scientific Method Lab

Tuesday: Read pgs. 4-11; copy the branches of science flowchart from the
         board; Branches of Science WS; Section 1.1 Review p. 11

Wednesday: Pgs. 12-17; copied prefix chart from board; Practice p. 17 1-5  
          (show work - we are only moving the decimal, not the factor label 
           method)

Thursday: Metrics and Measurement WS (work on your own paper, showing how
          you moved the decimal)

Friday: Tools of measurement chart; Practicing Measurement Skills WS

WEEK OF: August 18th-22nd

Monday: Measurement lab (you can make labs up for a grade, if you 
        choose to not make the labs up for a grade, you still have to have
        the lab sheets in your binder)

Tuesday: Measuring volume lab; metric conversion WS

Wednesday: Graphs p. 20-23; Writing in Scientific Notation WS; Begin Ch 1 
           Test Review

Thursday: Chapter 1 Test Review

Friday: Chapter 1 Test (make up test will be your first day back, either in 
        the morning before school or after school)

WEEK OF: 25th-29th

Monday: Began Chapter 2 Notes; Binder check; Section 2.1 Review p. 44 1-8

Tuesday: Matter and Energy notes (p45); Gas Laws

Wednesday: Changes of States of Matter; Properties of Matter; Practice p. 56

Thursday: Densities WS; Buoyancy; Chemical and Physical Changes

Friday: Density Lab; Section 2.3 Review p. 60 (omit #2,7)

WEEK OF: SEPTEMBER 2nd-5th

Tuesday: Popcorn!; Density Problems

Wednesday: Ch 2 Test Review

Thursday: Finished Ch 2 Test Review

Friday: Ch 2 Test; State Vocabulary; Element Symbols

       This ends the first grading period!!!!!

WEEK OF: September 8th-12th

Monday: Periodic Table Notes, Bohr Models for HW

Tuesday: Several WS using the periodic table

Wednesday: Computer lab; Atomic Structure Quiz

Thursday: Symbol Quiz I; Ions and Isotopes Notes and WS

Friday: Parts of an Atom WS; Atomic Dimensions Quiz; Study Guide

WEEK OF: September 15th-19th

Monday: Atomic Structure Study Guide

Tuesday: Symbol Quiz Part II; Atomic Structure Test, State Vocabulary

Wednesday: Families Notes and WS Section 3.3 Review P. 94 #1-7

Thursday: Identifying Unknown Elements and Interpreting the Periodic Table WS
          Families Quiz

Friday: Symbols Quiz III; Ionic,Covalent,and Metallic Bonding Notes and WS   
        Review for test p. 101-102

WEEK OF: September 22nd-26th

Monday: Bonding, Ch 3 Review p. 101-103

Tuesday: Fire Dept. Presentation

Wednesday: Families Test, Symbols Quiz IV, State Vocabulary, Chemical 
           Reactions Notes

Thursday: Balancing Equations

Friday: Balancing Equations

WEEK OF: September 29-October 3

Monday: Balancing Equations

Tuesday: Rate of reactions, Ch. 5 Review

Wednesday: Exam Review

Thursday: 4th Block Exam

Friday: 3rd Block Exam

             This ends the 2nd Grading Period and the 1st Semester
