English II Pre-AP Homework

       WEEK OF SEPT. 2-5
                TUE: Complete text analysis assignment.
                     Start thinking of possible ways to "make abstractions
                     concrete" in your poem.

                WED: Decide on an abstraction to use in your poetry 
                     assignment. Bring all materials needed for laptop time 
                     in class tomorrow.  If you have a flash drive bring it.

                THUR: Polish poems.
                      Gather all materials for our first reading day!!!!

                FRI:  Have a great weekend!! Writing boot camp starts Monday.

******Remember to bring a completed draft of your poem to class on Monday.
      Please bring a hard copy and a saved copy to revise.  Final drafts due
      Tuesday. It's show-off time!


       WEEK OF SEPT. 8-10
                MON:  Finish final touches on abstract poem assignment.  Try
                      to make the presentation of your work aesthetically 
                      pleasing as these will be on display.

                TUE:  Refine thesis statements.

                WED:  Complete "The Best Word for the Job" assignment.

                THUR: Make sure your "Structured Paragraph" drafting page is 
                      complete and prepare for tomorrow's reading day.

                FRI:  Don't forget to get a strong start on your vocabulary
                      cards. =)  Have a great weekend!
