* There are no special requirements of a PTA member.
* You may attend all PTA meetings, participate in elections, influence what
programs are organized by the PTA and vote on any PTA related issues.
I want to be a volunteer, but I only have a couple hours a month I can donate. Is there a place for me?
* You decide how much time you want to spend.
* We have a variety of ways to help, a little or a lot, at special events or
PTA Committee work, but to how much time that is - you tell us.
If I join the PTA, must I volunteer?
* No. It is your choice whether to become involved or not.
* Although we are always looking for volunteers, you are free to choose if or
when you would like to help.
If I join the PTA will you call me or bother me always wanting something?
* PTA needs volunteers who want to be involved with their child's
education.
* We only call and ask for volunteers from those individuals who have
specifically completed a volunteer registration form or contacted our
volunteer coordinator.
Do I have to be a member of the PTA to volunteer?
* No, you do not have to be a member of the PTA to volunteer your time.
* We appreciate all families who can give their time to help with school
activities.
What is a General Meeting of the PTA?
* At a General Meeting members are informed of the current status and future
plans of PTA programs and activities.
* You don't have to be a member to attend, however only PTA members can vote
on official PTA business.
* General Meetings are usually held on the first Tuesday of each month in the
school cafeteria.
* If you miss a meeting you can read about what happened by looking at the
meeting minutes posted on the AME PTA website.
What happens at the Executive Committee Meetings of the PTA?
*Executive Committee meetings are held monthly and open to everyone. In order
for a non-board member to attend an Executive Committee meeting, please put in
a request with the PTA President Kirstin Seale.
* The PTA Board meets to conduct PTA business, plan PTA programs and events,
share ideas and resolve any issues.
* Each Committee Chair and Program Coordinator attends these meetings to
report the status of their committee work of program and share future plans
and needs.
I work for a company that would like to get involved. What can my company do?
* Companies, businesses and community groups can participate in PTA by
donating money, goods or services to the PTA.
* Employees can volunteer individually or as a team for committee work or
programs and can lend a hand at PTA events.
* Many of our community partners have found event participation a great way to
reach out and participate in the Anderson Mill community.
