- Tuesday, February 14th is our Valentine's Party. It will start at 1:45!! 
- Our class won 3rd place in the science fair! Pictures will be up later this week!
- Remember all students need to be reading at home every night for a minimum of 25 minutes. Guided reading books are going home every night and those books need to be read as well. 
- Since we have been working weather for the past few weeks all the students have been asking me to put up the link to Weather Bug. We have been using it in the class to check the weather here in Round Rock. Here's the link!

~ What we are working on this week! ~

-Reader's Workshop:
Students will be learning about media literacy. We will look at the role of media literacy and study the various ways messages are shared with large groups of people. The two types of media literacy we will be learning about is digital and print media.
-Writer's Workshop:
Students will be working on writing personal narratives and looking closely at revising and editing them. We will take time to look at grammar, spelling and conventions during the receiving and editing of their stories. 
 
-Science: 
Students will be learning about the water cycle and how it affects our weather. We will look closely at evaporation, condensation and precipitation. 

-Math:
Students will work on refreshing and refining their addition strategies to get ready for subtraction. We will review using doubles and making ten to help the students with their mental math. We will also review the different types of problem solving skills that we have learned through CGI (Cognitive Guided Instruction).
 
-Social Studies:
