Reading - Continue Guided Reading: Wild Weather, Have You Seen a Javelina?, Chicken
Sunday, and Buffalo Music. During our legend and myth study, students will learn about
plot progression and continue to connect their thoughts to text.
Spelling - Please see new spelling list on the bottom of the homework page.
Writing - In our writing workshop, we will continue our focus on writing strong verbs
and emphasizing descriptive writing. We will also write expository pieces on our guided
field trip to Memorial Park.
Math - We are beginning our unit on measurement exploring length, perimeter and area.
Science - We are studying weathering, erosion, deposition and soil. We will take a guided
walking field trip to Memorial Park to get a first hand look at these slow changes.
Social Studies - We are continuing our study of explorers
