When is a student marked tardy?
Students are counted tardy if they arrive to the Cabin after the 7:45
bell rings. At 7:46 you are tardy!
Where do I go when I get to school?
All 3rd grade students report to the cafeteria each morning. There are
assigned tables for each class of students to sit at and wait until they are
dismissed as a whole group.
If I forget something at home, can my Mom just drop by the Cabin?
No. Class is in session. Every knock is an interruption.
Please leave all items at the front office. They will deliver it to the
Cabin at an appropriate time.
Can I go to and from the building alone?
Students are not allowed to travel to and from the building without one or
more buddies. Students need to be aware of safety and always make sure they
are choosing "Safety First".
Can parents call the teacher in the classroom?
Yes. During my planning time, 8:25-9:15, I am available to visit. If you
need me during the instruction portion of my day, please contact the front
office with your message. If you would like me to call you back, you may
leave a message on my voice mail and I will get back with you within 24 hours
of your call.
What happens when it rains? is windy? is cold?
Safety is our number one concern in bad weather. A small shower will be
handled much differently than a major storm. Should dangerous weather be in
the forecast, our Administration will call us into the building until the
storm passes. Light rain, wind, and cold will not greatly impact our day.
I think it a good idea to allow your child to have an umbrella that they
keep at school. Texas weather is famous for unannounced change! A wind
breaker or light rain jacket would certainly be appropriate for days where
bad weather conditions are approaching.
If I need to leave early what do I need to do?
Parents need to check students out for the day throught the front office.
Once the parent has signed out the child, an office attendant will call the
Cabin for the child. At this point, the parent will be given a slip
indicating that the child has been checked out for the day. DO NOT COME TO
THE CABIN BEFORE SIGNING OUT IN THE OFFICE! Students will not be released
without a slip from the office.
Do we have
Yes. We eat last lunch and our tummys get hungry. Bring a healthy snack
each day. Fruit, cheese, crackers, dry cereal, pretzels all make great,
healthy snacks
