I grew up in a small west Texas town called Alpine. In 1992 I graduated
with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Texas Tech
University. I have been a kindergarten teacher for nineteen years. I began
teaching at Blackland Prairie when the school opened in 2001. I feel very
blessed to work at such a great school. I enjoy teaching 5 and 6 year olds
and I am so appreciative of the support I receive from the parents. With
this great partnership, my students are successful.
I have a 10 year old daughter named Kelsey and a 9 year old son named Clay.
During my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends,
exercising,shopping, getting pedicures, and eating out.
Mrs. Canales' class is on a mission to learn letters, read and write, learn
numbers and problem solving skills, and be responsible with homework. We
will learn these goals by practicing and showing our personal best. We will
also be proud of ourselves for trying our very best and will respect ourself,
others, and school property.
