Who can check out books from the library?
Every Bledsoe student, parent, and staff member can check out
books.
How many books can I check out?
Kindergarten students may check out 1 book. First, second,
third, fourth,
fifth grade students, and parents may check out 3 books.
How long can I keep my books?
You may keep them for two weeks. If no one is next in line to
hold the
book, you may renew the book for another two weeks. The only
books you
cannot renew are Bluebonnet books (3rd-5th grade) and some other
popular
titles like Where's Waldo and I-Spy.
Does the library have magazines?
Yes! You may check out one magazine at a time and keep it for 2
weeks.
However, you may not draw, do the puzzles, or tear anything out
of the
magazines.
Can I be the next person to check out a book that is out?
Yes, this is called "placing a hold" on a book. You
can do this in person
at the library or you can do it online. If you choose to do this
online,
access the library catalog at
http://lib.friscoisd.org/ipac20/ipac.jsp?
profile=118&lang=eng&reloadxsl=true#focus. Search for the book
and click
the "Request Item" button ("Add to My List"
does NOT work!). Enter the
student ID number (this is the same as the cafeteria lunch
number) when
prompted. Press "Request" to finish.
How do I see the library books online?
From the Bledsoe homepage, click "Lib. Catalog" or go
directly to
http://lib.friscoisd.org/ipac20/ipac.jsp?
profile=118&lang=eng&reloadxsl=true#focus. Click on the tab that
says, "My
Account." Enter your student ID (the same one as in the
cafeteria). Once
you are logged in, you can search for books and put them on hold
from home.
You can also keep track of the books that you want until you are
able to
check them out.
What day does my class go to the library?
Students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade visit the library on a
six-day
rotation during their Specials time, so please check with your
classroom
teacher to learn the rotation. Students in 3rd - 5th grade visit
the
library at their point of need. Students may visit with their
classes or
individually, but they are not set to a standard schedule.
Is the library open before or after school?
Yes to both! The library is open before school most days of the
week from
7:30-8. It is closed for special events and for production of
the BBC News
on Thursday mornings. Students need a pass from the cafeteria or
gym to
visit before school. In the afternoon, the library is open until
3:15 most
days. It is closed for special events or meetings. Students do
not need a
pass after school; however, all students should check with
parents before
coming, and bus/off-site daycare kids may not come due to the
eminent
departure of their transportation.
