Animal WebQuest

Source: National Geographic Kids' website

Plan: Learn three facts about two different animals.

Do: Use this WebQuest to see pictures of the animals and watch a short video about their habits and habitats.

Review: At the end of today, we'll ask if we did a good job following our 'Plan' and 'Do,' and we'll decide if there is anything better we could do next time.

Directions:

1. Choose an animal from the list below.

Adelie Penguins / Dolphins / Bull Sharks / Canada Geese / Cane Toads / Coyotes

Emperor Penguins / Giant Pandas / Great White Sharks / Hippopotamuses / Koalas

Leatherback Sea Turtles / Lions / Loggerhead Sea Turtles / Mola / Mountain Gorillas

Nile Crocodiles / Orangutans / Poison Dart Frogs / Polar Bears / River Otters

Snowy Owls / Salamanders / Stingrays / Tigers / Vampire Bats / Zebras

2. Look at the pictures for that animal.

3. Watch the video by clicking on the "Video and Sound" tab. Make sure your headphones are in and your sound is on.

4. Now it's time to write on your graphic organizer. Write the name of the animal and three facts you learned during the video. They may be facts that you heard or things you saw. If you cannot find three, you may go back to the 'Facts & Photos' tab to read more facts.

5. For the last step, see the map of the world by clicking on the 'Map' tab. There is a legend to show you where this animal lives in the world. Use your pencil to shade these areas on your world map.

6. You finished! Fantastic! Bring your paper to Mrs. Wilson.
