I have a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies from Stephen F. Austin State
University. I have taught 17 years in the public school system at both the
elementary and junior high level. In the Fall of 2006, Mrs.Harris and myself
set-up and implemented a hands-on Science Lab. May of 2007, we conducted
a “GLOBAL DAY of SCIENCE” for third through fifth grade, the students spent
the whole day a Lake Navarro Mills participating in hand-on, minds-on,
cooperative Science activities. In the spring of 2007, I was recognized for
grant writing by the Texas Regional Collaborative for Science at ESC 12 in
Waco. I have also been recognized by the Blooming Grove ISD School Board
for innovative and motivational teaching. In 2007-2008 Mrs. Harris and
myself presented our science program at the following conferences CAST in
Austin, TASA in Austin, NASA in Houston, TEPSA in Austin. Mrs. Harris and
myself have conducted several teacher inservices for nieghboring schools. In
May I was recieved the "Mentoring Teacher" award from the Texas Regional
Collaborative (TRC) for Science. Also, in July at the State TRC meeting in
Austin I was presented with the Shell Oil Excellence in Teaching Award.
