For the past 8 years I have taught 4th Grade Science and G.T.
at B-E Intermediate School. I love everything about science in our world and
try to instill the notion that science is everywhere to all of my students.
My motto is “We Go Bananas for Science!”
An interesting fact that some of you may not know is that I also attended B-E
as a student myself. I went to B-E ISD from kindergarten through my senior
year and graduated as the salutatorian of my class. There are quite a few of
us B-E Alumni that came back to teach here because we love the school so
much, and I am certainly one of them! Go Eagles!!!
I enjoy spending my free time with my husband and daughter. Photography and
making cards are favorite hobbies of mine. I have to say that nothing is
more fun than flying airplanes with my husband as the pilot though.
EDUCATION, ORGANIZATIONS, & AWARDS:
*In 2000 graduated from UMHB with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Academics
(Elem. Education). “Go Cru!”
*In August 2008 became a Certified Master Science Teacher (Grades 4-8).
*For the past four years have been a member of the TRC (Texas Regional
Collaboratives for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching) through
Region 12.
*Member of the EAA Chapter 59 (Experimental Aircraft Association).
*Awarded "Region 12 Science Teacher of the Year" for 2007-2008
*Awarded "Region 12 Distinguished Science Educator" for 2008-2009
*B-E Intermediate School Awarded the "NCEA-Just for the Kids Campaign-High
Achievement in Science" Award during the 2009-2010 school year.
My mission is to always put K.I.D.S. F.I.R.S.T. daily.
